Welcome to the second edition of The Base Line Cut, otherwise known as the BLC. It's a bit like a BLT, but without the tomato. Here we'll be taking a look at what is popping around the NBA, with a particular focus on the quality sites across the Bloguin Network.

- Tim Duncan has done some amazing things in San Antonio -- no one will deny that. He has achieved practically everything there is to achieve as a basketball player. A recent NBA on TNT poll did not select him as the Player of the last decade; somewhat ludicrously he fell to fourth in that poll behind Kobe Bryant (runaway winner), LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal. We all have opinions and this is surely a subjective debate, but the stacked up achievements would seem to indicate that Duncan should have been a top two finisher in that debate.
So, putting that to one side, how will Duncan's legacy be finalized in the NBA? Will he finish out his career with another championship, in the same way that David Robinson went out a winner? Or will this final run end in disappointment. Project Spurs has a thorough and interesting piece on this very question. The level of detail that PS goes into with Spurs content is remarkable. While you're there, have a look at the article on Manu Ginobili, discussing his potential re-signing with the Spurs.
- Who isn't excited about the return of NBA Jam to our video games consoles? There have been grown men salivating like little boys about the upcoming release by EA Sports. Thunder Treats has taken a look at the Top Ten Duos for the new NBA Jam. Have a look and see who is the new Dominique Wilkins and Stacey Augmon.
- Guarding Brandon Roy is a problem that has troubled coaches across the league. Many of the game's greats have lauded Roy as an underheralded star in this league. Beyond the Beat takes a detailed look at what the Sacramento Kings did to try and slow the Portland Trail Blazers' leader. Sophia Brugato of Bust a Bucket also has a recap of the Blazers' win over the Kings. Also check out the Bust a Bucket shout-outs at the Blazers' Tweet Up event.
- We talked yesterday (BLC March 9th) about the Los Angeles Lakers recent "struggles" and their desire to rectify that against the Toronto Raptors last night. How did that all work out for you Don at With Malice?
- The Denver Nuggets are looking strong of late. The Nugg Doctor takes a look at their last three games.
- Deron Williams vs Derrick Rose is a great matchup in many respects. Two point guards that will be going around for a number of years yet this time met in the air as Williams threw down a solid dunk over Rose -- check it out at Hoops Manifesto.
