Welcome to Ballin' in the Barn, a new basketball column here at NBA Base Line. I am Josh Dhani, a huge basketball fan from Indiana. In the picture above is a hoop on a barn somewhere down south in Indy. I assure you that is not at my house and nowhere near the location where I live. In this column, I share my random thoughts on the NBA, along with news, rumors, and other enjoyable things for you amazing readers! Now let's start this column, shall we?

Good stuff for Aaron Brooks last night. The new, young point guard for the Houston Rockets scored 31 points last night, beating the Grizzlies. Another important stat line for Brooks was his seven three-pointers. When I first looked at this headline and I just payed attention to the name and not the team or anything, I thought it meant Brook Lopez. I was freaking out. A center, FOR THE NETS, made seven three's in a win. I was like, "Wow." But it was Aaron Brooks so it wasn't that surprising. But still good for Brooks. Deserves a Wow. If it were Brook Lopez, ShamWow. Or, if it were Shaq: ShamWOOHOO!
So I was reading the Larry Bird/Magic Johnson book (with Jackie McMullan), When the Game Was Ours. It's a good read so far. I'm almost done and I am at the part where Magic currently has HIV and retires from the NBA. But he isn't done with basketball so he joins the USA Basketball team for the 1992 Olympics. The Dream Team, that's right. It consisted of amazing players like Magic, Bird, Michael Jordan, Reggie Miller, Patrick Ewing, and many many more. But there was at one point where Jordan said he's better than everybody out of the whole group. They all got in a heated talk but Larry admitted he is better than everyone. And it's true. But they didn't hate each other, though. If Jordan were to play in the same time as Magic and them, it would have made the NBA that much more popular. Just giant. But I gotta admit, I too believe Jordan is better than all of them.
Speaking of Michael Jordan, he is the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. I thought he was the owner already when he joined the staff in 2006. Since joining the team, he has improved their winning percentage over the years. Take a look, via FBO:

Cool, ain't it? I thought so. Also, speaking of some cool players, John Wall will be the No. 1 pick of the draft. In my opinion, it should be Evan Turner. But I just don't see it happening. All the hype is leaning towards Wall. He'll be the No. 1 pick no matter what. I hope my Pacers get DeMarcus Cousins, though. Beast. Along with that, you can save time from watching the NCAA Tournament. Kentucky is gonna win it all baby!
Back to NBA. Imagine the ultimate NBA player. If you could combine two of the current superstars in the NBA, who would you choose. I'd say LeBron and Kobe will be No. 1. LeBron just has that unstoppable playing during the regular season and is just on fire. Come hitting playoffs, it ain't so much. That's where Kobe comes in, who has an assassin's mentality hitting playoff time and will burn you on each possession on the floor. It's true. And just imagine if you combine them together. Damn son. Just a freakish athlete. Here's what I think about this player, who's name is very interesting:
You want the ultimate NBA player? You don’t need three or four players to create one using Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Dwayne Wade together to make the ultimate player. That is so obvious that a player like that will be impossible to stop. I am doing something more shorter than that: just two players. And here are the choices, and if you are too blind to read the title of this post, you probably know who the players are: LeBron James…and….Kobe Bryant (gasp).
But enough with that. Just imagine. How amazing that player would be. The player would be 7′3″ with the speed, agility, stats, shooting…everything. Now that’s crazy: 7′3″?? How is it? I just combined Kobe’s inches from his height (6′6″, six inches for Kobe) and LeBron’s (6′8″, eight inches for ‘Bron).
This player will not be a center, no. Not even a power forward. He plays everything. He can play for the point with his speed and he can literally just own his defender since he is literally a foot taller than him most probably (count that two for Earl Boykins). Shooting guard won’t be that much different and it has to be fit there well, since Kobe does play there as his normal position. Small forward, LeBron’s position. It’s obvious for PF and C. The height. Not only that, the defense. Kobe can guard players well as well as LeBron. James also has the stellar ability of blocking shots. Along with that, the rebounding skills aren’t that bad either.
Imagine those statistics. I see 37.8 PPG, 13.4 APG, and 15.7 RPG. Don’t be surprised seeing those numbers with two figures like LeBron and Kobe morphed together. Hell, don’t be surprised to see them in the three-point shootouts, dunk contest, etc. during All-Star Weekend. Surely enough, it’ll be hard for the coach to put that player in a position since he’s so good at every single one.
Another reason why this player would be unstoppable is that LeBron James is dominant in the regular season with the stats, the amazing plays, dunks, blocks, game-winners, etc. and Kobe Bryant is dominant in the postseason with his clutchness and hunger for a win. The Black Mamba will stalk his prey and strike…and very very violently.
This player would truly be a freak of nature.
At the end of his career, he’ll retire with 43,227 points, 23,447 rebounds, and 11.7 APG. This player will go down as the best player in NBA history. He’ll retire with 11 MVP’s, 14 rings, and 22 All-Star appearances, considering he retires at 42.
I name the oh mighty great: LeKobe Jamant.
I wonder what Jamant would look like. Oh right:

It looks cool, but more scary. That just looks creepy. Freaky. Haha, get it? Because it's a freak of nature if you read the previous paragraphs, eh (so Captain Obvious)? But yeah, that would look cool to see a player like that, though.
Speaking of that, there's no more to say. This concludes my column. Yes yes, hold back the tears, I'll be back next week. Every Thursday is where it's at. This is gonna be a fun column for months, maybe years, to come. Keep checking out the other great articles here at NBA Base Line. I'll see you next week here at Ballin' In the Barn! Have a great day, folks!
